Process of booking a Portrait

1. Waiting List and booking

At present my waiting list is booked until MAY – DECEMBER 2024. This means portrait will be started, finished and shipped within that time frame. For reserving a place on this list simply press the “Book Your portrait” button below and get in touch through the commission form.  I would love to hear any ideas which you have for your portrait however creative they may be.

2. Payment process.

You can provide me with the photos and description necessary for the creation of the portrait. When your turn in the list arrives I will present you with a mock up of your portrait so you get an idea of how the original will look. When you confirm the mock up you can then pay the commission price. After this I will proceed to create the original. I accept payment Cash, PayPal, Bank Transfer and by Card.

3. Photo references & personality

After you’ve done the commission form I will need some photos of the subject you wish to have a portrait of, this could be a dog, a cat, a horse, a person, a bird etc. Or a combination of many. Having different photos from different perspectives will help hugely to get an idea of how the subject looks. Photos should be (if possible) not too close, not too far from the subject and (if possible) at the same level of the pet. High quality photos are appreciated but not absolutely necessary, I have worked using low quality photos many times. If you don’t have many photos of the subject, or you are not sure of what to send just sent what you have and I will find a way to work with the photos which you provide. I will also need a description of the subject, something about their personality, story, anything you wish to share with me.

4. Mock Up Creation

When your turn in the list arrives, I will create different mock ups using the photos you provided me with, using different compositions, perspectives, combination of different subjects (if it’s a multiple subject portrait), etc. I will also make adjustments in colours, eyes, source light, to make the portrait more interesting visually. I will propose up to 50 different background colours for you to choose the one that will go better in your home or the one that will suit your subject better.

5. Creation of the original

When we have confirmed the desired mock up is time for me to concentrate in the original. If you’ve booked your place for, let’s say, August-September that means the original portrait will be started, finished and shipped in that time frame. Keep in mind some portraits could take a little longer than expected. Art is a very subjective matter and at times can be difficult to calculate exactly how long one piece will take me this is why I prefer to give 2 months deadlines and if I finish earlier is great. During the creation of the original I will be in touch sending weekly updates.

Shipping

After confirmation that you are happy with your portrait I will proceed to ship it. The portrait is sent extremely well packaged and protected. I take great care and attention in my packaging process. My portraits arrive  beautifully wrapped accompanied by a box Certificate of Authenticity, signed and dated both in the certificate and in the painting. It may arrive in about a weekor less, some rare times maybe more.
